Evaluating Longitudinal Unsteady Aerodynamic Effects in Stall for a T-Tail Transport Model

چکیده

Although there have been many proposed methods to model unsteady aerodynamic effects in the stall and poststall region, little work has done directly assess impact of models on stability control characteristics. In this paper, state-space method for modeling is combined with bifurcation analysis examine sensitivity behavior choice method: quasi-steady or unsteady. It found that can adequately capture dynamics chosen example a T-tailed transport aircraft negligible wing–tail coupling. The study then expanded investigate hypothetical situation highly characteristics resembling delta wing configuration—achieved by increasing time delay constants model. This results an significantly lower flying qualities as indicated analysis. These findings highlight need implement techniques high-performance significant vortex-related aerodynamics order sufficiently their dynamics.

How bumps on whale flippers delay stall: an aerodynamic model.

Wind tunnel experiments have shown that bumps on the leading edge of model humpback whale flippers cause them to "stall" (i.e., lose lift dramatically) more gradually and at a higher angle of attack. Here we develop an aerodynamic model which explains the observed increase in stall angle. The model predicts that as the amplitude of the bumps is increased, the lift curve flattens out, leading to...

A Practical Method for Investigation of Aerodynamic and Longitudinal Static Stability of Wing-in-Ground Effect

The purpose of this paper is to present a fast, economical and practical method for mathematical modeling of aerodynamic characteristics of rectangular wing-in-ground effect (WIG). Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations were converted to Bernoulli equation by reasonable assumptions. Also Helmbold's equation was developed for calculation of the slope of wing lift coefficient in ground ...

Unsteady aerodynamic forces of a flapping wing.

The unsteady aerodynamic forces of a model fruit fly wing in flapping motion were investigated by numerically solving the Navier-Stokes equations. The flapping motion consisted of translation and rotation [the translation velocity (u(t)) varied according to the simple harmonic function (SHF), and the rotation was confined to a short period around stroke reversal]. First, it was shown that for a...

Sediment Transport in Unsteady Flow Conditions

Sediment transport under unsteady flow condition is studied experimentally. In the first step, sediment transport under different steady flow conditions was measured and an empirical equation was derived for its calculation. In the next step, two continuous and three stepwise hydrographs were generated in the flume, and their sediment transport rate was measured. The continuous hydrographs were...
